Generally the size of a teacup, cupcakes have been around since the 19th century. Using the standard ingredients of butter, sugar, eggs, and flour, cupcakes can vary greatly due to other additions and a variety of icings. They are fun to make since there are so many ways they can be decorated. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Animal Cupcakes
Animal cupcakes are a great idea for Easter parties, specifically individual bunny and chick shapes, or a nest filled with eggs. A cupcake can also be decorated as an exotic animal, such as a lion, tiger, or hippo. Frogs can be made with googly eyes, while a bear's ears and nose can be made from chocolate.
Flowers
Six cupcakes can be combined together to make a flower shape, with the one in the middle covered with a different color icing than the others. Marshmallows can also be arranged on individual cupcakes to create a daisy shape. If each is shaped into a flower, 12 can be arranged so they create a bouquet.
