Cupcakes are becoming increasingly popular as snacks, cakes and even wedding cakes for larger parties. If you are having a bowling party for your bowling team or celebrating a bowling victory, cupcakes are an ideal choice of cake for the celebration. Bowling cupcakes are simple to make and offer many different creative cupcake decorations. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Bowling Sayings
Add common bowling sayings to the top of your cupcakes to make them relevant to the bowling theme. Sayings can include "Strike" and "Spare," but you can also include bowling lingo, such as "Turkey," "Splits," "Gutters" and "Lanes." Make each letter different colors or sizes to make the lingo cupcakes unique and make them stand out.
Bowling Pins
There are various methods for creating bowling pin cupcakes. Buy small plastic bowling pins to add to the top of the cupcake or make the bowling pins yourself using cake mix and flattened marzipan to place on the top. To create it yourself, bake bowling pins by using a bowling pin shape, such as small Popsicle forms. Once they are baked, attach them to the cupcake using frosting as glue. Place the flattened marzipan on top to cover both the added cake piece and the cupcake surface space. Dye some marzipan strips red and add two red stripes to each pin to make it realistic.
Bowling Balls
Create bowling ball cupcakes by adding colored frosting to each of the cupcakes and use black or darkened frosting to make the finger holes of the bowling ball. If you are unsure of how the holes are arranged on a bowling ball, find a picture to ensure you get the finger holes correct on the bowling ball.
