How to Make a Puppy Out of a Cupcake

Honor man's best friend with easy-to-make puppy cupcakes for a birthday party, classroom treat or just a Sunday afternoon activity. Decorating the cupcakes with cookies and candies instead of elaborate icing cuts down on time and makes the dessert simple enough for children to take part. Create a variety of combinations or match a certain breed by switching out the flavor and color of the icing and candy. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Ice the top of the cupcake with brown frosting.

Separate the peanut-shaped cookie and place one half on each side of the cupcake to create the ears.

Cut the marshmallow in half and place between the ears to create the eyes. Use the black gel icing to make small dots in the center of the marshmallows.

Place a small amount of gel icing onto the back of the round brown candy. Position the candy in the center of the cupcake to create the nose.

Spread a small amount of icing onto the back of the wafer cookie. Place the cookie on the bottom half of the cupcake to create the mouth.

Use the black gel icing to draw the dog's mouth on the wafer cookie using the black gel icing. Make two "J" shapes back-to-back.
